Steps to Peace - Part Two: The Problem

The Problem: Our Separation
God created us in His own image to have an abundant life. He did not make us like robots who would automatically love and obey Him. Rather, God gave us a will and a freedom to choose. When we chose to disobey God and go our own willful way, it results in separation from God.

The Bible says...
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

People have tried many ways to bridge the gap between themselves and God... but the Bible tells us ...
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." Proverbs 14:12 "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, sos that he will not hear." Isaiah 59:2 No bridge reaches God ... except one.

Tune in tomorrow for the answer ...

The Steps to Peace

Step One - God's Purpose: Peace and Life
- God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life -- abundant and eternal.

The Bible says ... "We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlassting life." John 3:16 "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10 Why don't most people have this? After all, God planned it for us ...

The answer will be posted tomorrow in Step Two ....

Embracing the Journey

Grace and peace to everyone! In our Sunday night spiritual formation small group meeting, we thought it would be nice for all groups to have a chance to interact based on the daily readings, or biweekly meetings.

May God richly bless you with all wisdom as you seek to know Him more intimately; may He illuminate your mind and unlock the mystery of His word that is found in Christ Jesus ....

Look forward to seeing all the interaction among you.

Have a richly blessed day.
Alex

How This Works!

Anyone can view the Board and add comments, however, to "Post" a new item you must be an "Author". To become an "Author":

1. Send an email to webmaster@ivbc.org requesting you be added to the "Author List" on the IVBC Discussion Board.
2. As soon as I read your email I will send you an invitation to become an Author.
3. You must click on the link in the email and follow the instructions. This will include creating a Google Account if you do not already have one. (You'll have to sign on with a Google ID and password to be able to post an item).
4. Now, go to the IVBC website and select the "Spiritual Discussion Board" Item from the Home Page. You can also create a shortcut on your desktop. The link to the Discussion Board is http://www.ivbc.blogspot.com/. At this point you will be able to post a new item.
5. After you become an author you should go into your profile on the Discussion Board site and "share" you name and email. This will enable others to send email directly to you from the board and also will display your full name instead of just your first name when you add comments or post an item to the board.
6. You can also elect to subscribe to an RSS Feed to your email, if your email supports RSS Feeds. Then you get all the updates as they happen.
7. Good luck and if you have questions please let me know.
